NEWS FROM YOUR HOA BOARD
Posted on Apr 23rd, 2025 Comments (0)
Hello fellow members:

More news from the Live Oak Bend Civic Club HOA Board wants to tell you about.

Homesteading Section IV lots. As discussed during the last 2 annual meetings, this has been a work in progress. With the help of the McCusker’s and other members working with the Board, this has been accomplished. If you are homesteaded in Sec. I or II and own property in Sec. IV across from your   lot(s), there is a way to have Matagorda County consider the Sec. IV lot(s) as part of your homestead. Step by Step instructions have been developed and are now on the website www.lobcivic.org. Look in the Documents section under Members for Introduction to Homesteading Extension and Homesteading Extension Instructions. You can also reply to this email to receive further information.

Redo of PR651 has been completed as well as the county clearing the drainage along Chambliss to help with flooding issues along PR651

Road work on PR652. The Board has recruited the assistance of an expert advisor on how best to redo the road. This information was used in the redo of PR651 to improve its stability and longevity. But, it required the Board to return to getting updated bids. The Board continues to actively look at options to finance part of the work while seeking updated bids. We do expect to have all this completed and work beginning on the road this summer or fall.

The License Plate Reader was recently used to help identify a car driving dangerously on Live Oak Bend.

A few reminders:

Signs in yards: The deed restrictions only allow signs regarding sale of property. Post Beryl many were placed by roofing companies doing work, but they should not continue to be in yards.

Rental property and roaming dogs. Complaints have been made to the Board about this. There is a Leash Law in Matagorda County and no dogs should be outside of property bounds.

Drainage: As we prepare for reworking PR652 please be sure the drainage off your property and through your ditches or culverts is occuring correctly and according to deed restrictions. Water over or against the road due to poor drainage will damage the base of the road and negate the work done to rebuild it.

Dates for upcoming LOBCC HOA Board meetings have been put on the website: lobcivic.org. The dates are  June 8, Aug. 3, Sept. 7, and Dec. 7, 2025. You’ll still get an email prior to the meetings. They are open to all members. The Annual Meeting is scheduled for Oct. 18, 2025.  Please be sure we have your current email address and phone numbers.  Don’t forget to check out and follow the Face Book page for Live Oak Bend Civic Club Owners.

That’s all folks.

Home sign tips
1) Always use the 911 location address in reflective numbers posted on your mailbox to identify your Live Oak Bend property. The 911 address is different to the lot number.  To find out your 911 address, contact Rebecca Mayo at Matagorda County, Texas by email at: rmayo@co.matagorda.tx.us or call her at 979-244-6801. In the event of an emergency you could save precious minutes by helping the emergency services correctly locate your home.
2) Do your part to reduce visual clutter and place your house name and number on the mailbox or building instead of adding another sign post.
