NEWS FROM YOUR HOA BOARD
Posted on Feb 7th, 2025 Comments (0)
Hello fellow members: There have been a number of recent developments that the Live Oak Bend Civic Club HOA Board wants to tell you about. First: A Live Oak Bend Social for all members has been scheduled for March 15, 2025, at Boyar Park from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The Board is planning (but could change) on a Crawfish Boil. Please mark your calendars and RSVP to this email address by March 8, 2025, if you can come. Second: Homesteading Section IV lots. As discussed during the last 2 annual meetings, this has been a work in progress. With the help of the McCusker’s and other members working with the Board, this has been accomplished. If you are homesteaded in Sec. I or II and own property in Sec. IV across from your lot(s), there is a way to have Matagorda County consider the Sec. IV lot(s) as part of your homestead. Step by Step instructions are being developed and will be placed on the website www.lobcivic.org . You can also reply to this email to receive further information. Third: Redo of PR651 has been contracted. Waiting on resolving drainage issues along Chambliss and PR651 as well as the weather. Fourth: Road work on PR652. Unfortunately, the weather and unforeseen life events have delayed any temporary pothole repair. But, researching redoing the whole road is proceeding with your Board actively looking at options to finance part of the work and seeking updated bids. If you personally have experience with road construction or know firsthand of a reliable company, please reply to this email address with the information. The Board is seeking a road construction expert to help advise and local or near local companies to bid. Fifth: The 2025 slate of LOBCC HOA officers are: Pres. P.J. Sheets, Vice Pres. Dennis Brown, Treas. Rosie McCusker, Sec. Maury Guzick. If you see Ann Chaffin or Grady Powell in the neighborhood, please thank them for their years of service on the Board. Sixth: The License Plate Reader was recently used to help the Matagorda County Sheriffs Dept. to identify a truck involved causing property damage in Live Oak Bend. Seventh and Final: Dates for upcoming LOBCC HOA Board meetings have been put on the website: lobcivic.org. The dates are April 6, June 8, Aug. 3, Sept. 7, and Dec. 7, 2025. You’ll still get an email prior to the meetings. They are open to all members. The Annual Meeting is scheduled for Oct. 18, 2025. Please be sure we have your current email address and phone numbers. Don’t forget to check out and follow the Face Book page for Live Oak Bend. That’s all folks. Live Oak Bend Civic Club HOA Board

Home sign tips
1) Always use the 911 location address in reflective numbers posted on your mailbox to identify your Live Oak Bend property. The 911 address is different to the lot number. To find out your 911 address, contact Rebecca Mayo at Matagorda County, Texas by email at: rmayo@co.matagorda.tx.us or call her at 979-244-6801. In the event of an emergency you could save precious minutes by helping the emergency services correctly locate your home.
2) Do your part to reduce visual clutter and place your house name and number on the mailbox or building instead of adding another sign post.
